Michael Johnson Pre-1996 Olympics
This is a collection of races that Michael Johnson competed in during the 1996 outdoor season. The first two races are the US Olympic Trial finals for the 200m and 400m. Johnson narrowly missing the world record in the quarter and breaks Mennea's world record in the 200m that stood for 17 years. The next races were great foreshadowing for the upcoming Olympic Games to be held in Atlanta. In these races, Johnson, Ato Boldon, Roger Black, and the forever young Frankie Fredericks put down some incredible times. Helping to serve as some motivation I am sure, Fredericks actually bested the new record holder in the 200m in a photofinish! Hopefully you enjoy the historic footage!

1984 Olympic Games Men's 400m SF (Bert Cameron's amazing run)
Просмотров 46 тыс.14 лет назад
www.tandfunlimited.com/1984.html This is just a great moment in track and field history with Bert Cameron running through pain to finish the semi-final race. He nearly stopped running at around the 130m mark only to re-accelerate and finish in the all important 4th place to qualify for the finals. Unfortunately he was unable to compete in the final, but this race remains extremely impressive. C...

www.tandfunlimited.com/2007.html The men's final from Osaka, Japan. Tyson Gay overhauls the competition in the last 50m separating from Asafa Powell and Derrick Atkins as he nearly eclipses his PR with a 9.85 win. 2007 was a great year for USA as Gay completed the double with his 200m victory and Bernard Lagat pulled off his own double with 1500m, and 5,000m golds. Enjoy the race!

(www.tandfunlimited.com/1996.html) One of the great women's relay races. The USA was able to move to the lead on the penultimate leg by Kim Graham and Jearl Miles was able to hold the lead on the anchor leg. Miles was tested to the end by Falilat Ogunkoya who ran a great anchor for Nigeria, with a tremendous closing sprint also from Grit Breuer of Germany who almost came clear of the field in t...
1988 Olympics Men's 100m Final

Ben Johnson vs Carl Lewis at the Seoul Olympics. Great start by Johnson as he completely destroys the field for the first 80m enroute to a new world record. The gold and record were later stripped as he controversially tested positive for steroids. Both Johnson and his coach Charlie Francis denied his use of the steroids in question. Francis went on to chronicle Johnson's steroid use and cycles...

Men's 400m Final from the 1993 IAAF Athletics World Championship. Michael Johnson wins the race over world record holder Butch Reynolds and Olympic champion Quincy Watts (4th). The race featured 3 Americans and 3 Kenyans in the final and was made memorable by Quincy Watts' shoe falling apart on the final turn into the homestretch. At that point, he was struggling to maintain contact with Reynol...

World's Farthest Noodle Throw! Watch Jan Zelezny Throwing an Actual Noodle Over 275 Feet (85m+)!
Просмотров 20 тыс.14 лет назад
No special effects here, just simply an unbelievably talented man who was starting to grow tired of beating people with a real javelin and decided to try throwing other implements farther. He wanted a slightly more difficult challenge and decided upon a wet noodle as the most obvious choice. The other competitors were rejoicing as they assumed that they would have no problems beating the world ...

World's Highest Pole Vault! Sergey Bubka wins gold at the 1993 World Champs.

Men's pole vault competition from the 1993 Athletics World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany. 3 men clear 5.90m with Sergey Bubka winning the competition with a 6.00m clearance on his first attempt. His jump at 5.90 was quite possibly the highest jump in the history of the pole vault. Bubka's hip height was amazingly clear, and it would have simply become a question of depth and bar placement...
